As an FIT graduate, where she received the prestigious Critics Choice Award, Jan-Marie Kurdin spent the majority of her career working in the fashion industries of New York City and Los Angeles designing and doing product development for intimate apparel and sportswear.
After taking time to raise her children, she returned to her love of design but this time she decided to work with private clients and do custom evening wear. When her daughter began taking ballet classes, she stumbled upon the wonderful world of ballet. In 2006, Jan-Marie started her company A. Jolan Ballet.
In 2018, she entered Project Tutu, a 3-day competition held in Jackson, MS every four years with designers from around North America and placed second. She continues to follow her passion by designing custom ballet costumes (and the occasional evening gown) for private clients.
